We are a community based volunteer non-profit organization.
The Friends of Elm Creek are dedicated to promoting public recreational trails and open spaces, protecting the existing open spaces, and preserving the natural resources of the Elm Creek Corridor for the benefit of the local community as well as for the many plant and wildlife species which make their home along this corridor.

We had over 150 citizens stop by at the 2005 Maple Grove Days Expo and special thanks to the nearly 100 concerned citizens who took the time to sign-up in support of further efforts to protect the Elm Creek Corridor. We are looking forward to participating again this year! Volunteers needed!

To accomplish our goals we are promoting the following actions:
- Adoption and recognition of
the Elm Creek Regional Trail running from Maple Grove through Plymouth and Medina, by local officials
- Asking local government to
increase the protections in their codes for the Elm Creek Corridor during the current Comprehensive Plan review process.
- Participation in the Friends of
Elm Creek to make local officials aware of the support for Public Open Spaces.
Specifically, the Friends of Elm Creek seeks to:
- Raise public awareness about the
Elm Creek Corridor (ECC).
- Partner with local government to
protect and restore the ECC through citizen involvement and volunteer activities.
- Promote increased protections from
the current standards to further provide public use opportunities and resource protection in advance of continuing development activities along the ECC .
